Wickedness is a Low Profit Endeavor (Proverbs 10:2)

Proverbs 10:2In the words of Proverbs 10:2 “Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; but righteousness delivereth from death.” There's something very strange at work in the world when non-Christians and those who claim to be so, but have been corrupted, fear the laws of police and government more than they do God. Are you really more afraid of disobeying rules and regulations passed a tribunal of men than the word of the Ultimate Authority?

Proverbs 10:2In the words of Proverbs 10:2 “Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; but righteousness delivereth from death.” There’s something very strange at work in the world when non-Christians and those who claim to be so, but have been corrupted, fear the laws of police and government more than they do God. Are you really more afraid of disobeying rules and regulations passed a tribunal of men than the word of the Ultimate Authority?

We’re not suggesting you wake up this morning and head out with the intention of breaking as many laws as you can. The point is, as a Bible-believing businessman or businesswoman, the law of God should rule your actions, not the extent to which you fear punishment if caught breaking a human prescribed law. Here’s an example. It’s relatively easy to spam millions of people with unwanted emails promoting your product but is it ethical in the eyes of God? Do you think God would be spreading his message via spam? We’re pretty sure that preaching by deception would not qualify as an appropriate method for Bible friendly businesses.

Your online, offline, and spiritual integrity should be the same. That’s God’s law and the punishment for disobedience is much worse than anything that can be meted out in the here and now. You might slip tawdry behavior by the court of man but pulling the wool over God’s eyes won’t be so easy. And may we be so bold as to point out that thinking in those terms is a very bad idea.

Wickedness might pad the bottom line in this life for a while but it is being massively subtracted from the eternal profit balance of your soul in heaven. Good trade? We don’t think so. Proverbs 10:2 reminds us of that fact.

A Bible Podcast Unlike Any Other

Bible podcastWe’re in the studio right now preparing for the release of the first Solomon Success Show podcast, which is destined to be a Bible podcast different from any we’ve ever heard of. The problem, as we see it, with much of the faith-based media out there is that not enough attention goes toward a Biblical approach to investing, finance, business, and other topics related to money. Some preachers, pastors, and church-goers act like money is an evil thing, with discussions regarding it best held at arm’s length if they must be acknowledged at all.
