Financial management by the Bible

What does the Bible tell us about financial management? Quite a bit, in fact, and to find out what it is we head to the trusted book. Proverbs 21:5 reveals:

“The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.”

If this isn’t a walking advertisement for carrying out your plans and actions in a thoughtful, deliberate manner, we don’t know what it. Don’t be in a rush to get things done quickly or find the short cut that turns out to be a disaster in waiting. Remember the definition of diligent? Here’s one we like: quiet and steady perseverance, especially in detail or exactness.

The exhortation in Proverbs reminds us to take our time, do the proper research, explore the options, and don’t skimp on the details just because they are time consuming. In a society dedicated to haste, waste, and haphazard results, the financial management of your portfolio will surely show the fruits of your labor when you give it the time it deserves. Diligence also means not to trust others with the responsibility of understanding your investments. Think your stock broker cares as much about your retirement as you do?

At Solomon Success, our guess is, “No!”

The trick is to find an investment that doesn’t require a middleman. One in which you maintain a steady, controlling hand on portfolio growth. Not to sound too hasty here but we’ve already found one – it’s income property investments, though, obviously, we don’t expect you to take our word for it. Do your own research. The free real estate education provided at JasonHartman.com is a good place to start.
